Research into Thalia Neighborhood
On June 2, 2002 at the Annual Meeting of the Society, Deni Norred-Williams presented an outline of her research into the Thalia Community. Her research is extensive and includes interviews with many local residents as well as a delving into old books, maps, and records as can be found. The program was highlighted by some of the interesting Thalian facts she has discovered. (If you missed the meeting, you will have to wait to read some these stories in her upcoming book!) Her presentation also was and is to encourage feedback from others to help her create as complete and accurate a history of Thalia as possible. She is easily reached ( niecelaine@yahoo.com ) if you would like to exchange information or contribute to her history of Thalia!
Also Deni's new book (written together with local authors Lillie R. Gilbert and Belinda Nash - released in February 2003) Bayside History Trail, A View from the Water is available from Borders Books and Wild River Outfitter ( http://wildriveroutfitters.com)
