Newtown
Edward Mosely, Sr., in 1697 purchased some land for the purpose of establishing Newtown. By 1752, the port of Newtown became the county seat. The county seat was later moved to the village of Kemp's Landing in 1778, when the port of Newtown began to show a decline.
